Creative Bubbles x Start-ups
It’s support for creatives, delivered by creatives.
Creative Bubbles X Start-ups is a short programme of support specifically for people who are thinking about starting their own creative business.
Designed to provide the knowledge, confidence and inspiration to feel informed enough make the leap to self-employment, each Bubble brings together five like-minded individuals to share their hopes and fears of running a creative business.
This program free for participants and is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The Format
Creative Bubbles are facilitated by an experienced creative business leader. Every participant will get the opportunity to discuss their thoughts, ask questions and gain insights from others. Bubbles are split into four, one-hour online sessions:
Monday 7pm. Session 1.
Starting out - visualising what your business might look like and what you need to think about.
Tuesday 7pm. Session 2.
Putting yourself out there - getting your proposition right, your audience and setting the right tone.
Wednesday 7pm. Session 3.
Keeping going - the process and practise of running a creative business.
TBC 7pm. Session 4.
A 1-2-1 feedback session on your initial plan including Q&A with your facilitators.
Entry Criteria
It’s free to participate and you must be based in West Yorkshire.
You are pre-start-up, meaning currently employed, unemployed, a student or a recent graduate looking to start a new venture in the creative industries (for example you may be employed in a non-creative business but want to start a creative business)
You are interested in setting up a business in the creative industries which might eventually be your main source of income.
You are required to keep a log of your progress and learnings post-sessions.

Darren Evans
Co-founder of Wilson’s Republic and founder of brand agency The Engine Room. He has over 25 years experience in running a creative business. He is also a Design Expert for the UK Design Council and an alumnus of Amsterdam-based Design Thinkers Academy.

Aidan Nolan
Co-founder of Wilson’s Republic and founder of A.N.D. Studio, a purposely nimble design & branding studio who work collaboratively with clients big & small. I also work as an associate lecturer in Graphic Design at the University of Huddersfield.

Hello Katy is an independent design studio, led by Creative Director and Design Consultant, Katy. It’s her mission to make BOLDISM® a thing. In fact Katy believes in it so much, she owns it.
